HOW TO BOOK YOUR MUSKOKA COTTAGE
Please contact our Gravenhurst office via phone/fax or email firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain a rental application form. Application forms must be completed before a potential booking can be presented to the cottage owner for consideration. Prior to completing an application, you should contact our office to check property availability and whether there are currently any other pending bookings. In any event, when completing an application, please ensure that alternate choices are included, in order of preference. The completed application should be faxed or e-mailed to our office.
The Company will present each application to the cottage owner as soon as possible after receipt, however, the Company is not in a position to ensure the acceptance of any particular application. Due to the popularity of some of the lakefront cottage rental listings and owners that can take a while to track down, it is not that uncommon for us to end up with multiple offers on the same property. When this happens, our policy is to present all rental offers to the owner stating when each one was received, the length of the desired rental, the size and mix (adults/children) of the party and whether we have dealt with that particular renter before. The decision as to which rental to accept is then made by the cottage owner and we will relay their decision to you. We apologize in advance if we ever must disappoint you by rejecting your attempted booking as a result of this situation, but, the circumstance is an unfortunate result of market demand for good rental cottages in Muskoka. We will do our best to try and place you in one of your alternate choices.
Generally, however, multiple offers are not the case and we can usually quickly verbally confirm your booking. Written confirmation will then be provided upon receipt of the booking deposit (1/3 of the total rent), your original, signed copy of the application form, Owner/Renter Rental Agreement form and post dated cheque ( dated forty days before the rental begins) for the balance due. If all of the above documents and payments have been received you will be sent full details of the address, directions to the cottage and the key location. A cottage information sheet will also be provided, outlining in more detail, what's already at the cottage, what you need to bring, drinking water and garbage disposal instructions etc. If you have not received this information one week prior to the start of your rental, please contact the office.
